Campus Involvement
This semester I auditioned for a part in IC Theatre Lab's production of Mama Mia! Ultimately I decided I would want to be part of the crew, and unfortunately the production never happened, but I really enjoyed going through the audition process involving singing, dancing, acting, lots of practicing, and stepping out of my comfort zone. Community Service
My family and I decided that most of the canned goods we had stored up pre-pandemic would be needed by others more than us so we donated them to a food bank near us! I wish I had pictures but we had two complete boxes filled with canned goods.
Student Leadership Institute
I attended three SLI events this semester.
I attended a virtual SLI on advocacy for groups and for themselves. I appreciated learning about the value of confidence, and I gained a lot of insight finding unexpected resources in many difference kinds of people, and widening your organization or your own recognition to complete a task. I also attended a virtual SLI on bullet journaling. Friends of mine bullet journal and I love the idea, but I've never started because I'm not artsy enough. But this SLI showed me several ways to craft a neat and productive, aesthetic bullet journal without being a talented artist, and I'm really looking forward to it. My favorite SLI event this semester was a trip to the Corning Museum of Glass, where we were took a tour. I learned about the production of glass, some of the technology of glass, appreciated all sorts of amazing art, and even got to design and sandblast a drinking glass! It was an amazing day. |
