Campus Involvement
This semester I joined the Ithaca College literary magazine, Stillwater, as an editor. I have had really good experiences working with an author to put out creative work on the Stillwater website, and I feel like I've made connections with my team despite the distance.

This semester I participated in the Roots for Rivers tree planting project. We planted about a hundred trees in Rosedale Park in New Jersey, to protect the Rosedale Lake from future runoff and erosion. We also tended to previously planted trees, to make sure they were able to grow.
This was a really fun experience and I was able to meet new people and make a friend while being safe and productive. |
Student Leadership Institute
My first virtual SLI event was called A Friendly Environment, where we learned strategies for being productive, respectful, and courteous in the workplace and the classroom. My second virtual SLI was called An Evening with Valerie Kaur. This was a wonderful, wonderful event. Kaur had such a calming and inspirational energy and power to her words, and her message of social justice and self acceptance felt like it brought clarity and resolution to the wild year of 2020. My final SLI, Sleep is Your Superpower, was led by Mish and was really relaxing. We watched a TED Talk about the negative effects of lacking sleep and the positive effects of being well-rested, and discussed the talk. It gave me a lot of perspective on getting my rest in. |
